ABOUT

ROSA PARKS ELEMENTARY

Rosa Parks offers a robust program which offers 2 instructional strands. An English only strand and a One-Way Developmental Bilingual strand specifically designed for English Learners(Biliteracy) to maintain their home language and add English proficiency through an 80:20 instructional models. In addition, we offer many enrichment opportunities for our students through the School in the Park Program where students in grades 3-5 receive additional instruction in the Balboa Park museums and cultural institutions for a portion of each year. All our students also participate in weekly music and PE classes taught by specialized teachers.  Rosa Parks is a school that values language and culture and as such ensures that we have an inclusive program for all children and families. This includes a full time counselor, school nurse, health office (Mid City), school based social workers and a Parent Center who all provided services for children and families.
