This School Parent Compact is in effect year 2020-2021.

 

Rosa Parks distributes to parents and family members of Title I, Part A students, a school-parent compact (Compact). This Compact, which has been jointly developed with parents, outlines how parents, the entire school staff, and students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement. This Compact describes specific ways the school and families will partner to help children achieve the state’s high academic standards. This Compact addresses the following legally required items, as well as other items suggested by parents and family members of students Title I, Part A students:

 

Required School Parent Compact provisions

 

·  The school’s responsibility to provide high-quality curriculum and instruction The ways parents and family members will be responsible for supporting their children’s learning (ESSA Section 1116[d][1]).

·  The importance of ongoing communication between parents and family members, and teachers through, at a minimum, annual parent-teacher conferences; frequent reports on student progress; access to staff; opportunities for parents and family members to volunteer and participate in their child’s class; and opportunities to observe classroom activities (ESSA Section 1116[d][2]).

·  Parent-teacher conferences in elementary schools, at least annually, during which the Compact shall be discussed as it relates to the individual child’s achievement (ESSA Section 1116 [d][2][A]).

·  Frequent reports to parents and family members on their children’s progress

(ESSA Section 1116[d][2][B]).

·  Reasonable access to staff, opportunities for parents and family members to volunteer and participate in their child’s class, and observation of classroom activities (ESSA Section 1116[d][2][C]).

How does the school address this?

The school engages Title I, Part A parents and family members to improve the achievement of their children in meaningful interactions with the school. This Compact supports a partnership among staff, parents and family members, and the community to improve student academic achievement. The school coordinates and integrates the Title I, Part A parental involvement program with other programs, and conducts other activities, such as resource centers, to encourage and support parents and family members in more fully participating in the education of their children (ESSA Section 1116[e][4]) in which ways?

Rosa Parks has an active Parent Center and Social works whose focus is to support parents full participation in their child’s education. Programming is focused on improving educational outcomes for children. 

The school distributes information related to school and parent programs, meetings, and other activities to Title I, Part A parents and family members in a format and language that the parents and family members can understand (ESSA Section 1116[e][5]) in which ways?

 

All communication is sent out in English, Spanish and Vietnamese.

Translation is offered in 3 languages at all parent meeting

Additional languages are offered for Parent/Teacher Conferences.

The school provides support for parent and family member involvement activities requested by Title I, Part A parents and family members (ESSA Section 1116[e][14]) in which ways?

 

Parent Center staff, administrators, front office staff, social workers, counselor and nurse all support parents.

The school provides opportunities for the participation of all Title I, Part A parents and family members, including those with limited English proficiency, disabilities, and migratory students; and that the information and school reports are provided in a format and language that parents and family members can understand (ESSA Section 1116[f]) in which ways?

 

All communication is sent out in English, Spanish and Vietnamese.

This Compact was adopted by the Rosa Parks Elementary on TBD and will be in effect for the period of 2019-2020 school year.

The school will distribute the Compact to all parents and family members of students participating on, or before: October 10, 2020.

In the fall, an annual meeting will be held to share with parents a description of the Title I program and its requirements.

Rosa Parks  has developed a written Title I parent & family engagement policy with input from Title I parents. Input was gained and discuss during SSC and ELAC meetings on Sept 28, 2020

It has distributed the policy to parents of Title I students.

Policy was distributed in electronic format on Oct 1. 2020. Policy is also available on the school website.

 

This policy describes the means for carrying out designated Title I, Part A parent and family engagement requirements pursuant to ESSA Section 1116(c).

Each school served under this part shall jointly develop with, and distribute to, parents and family members of participating children a written parent and family engagement policy, agreed on by such parents, that shall describe the means for carrying out the requirements of subsections (c) through (f). How are parents notified of the policy in an understandable and uniform format and, to the extent practicable, provided in a language the parents can understand? How is the policy is made available to the local community? How and when is the policy updated periodically to meet the changing needs of parents and the school (ESSA Section 1116[b][1])?

·   Policy can be found in our SSC binder which is available to the public

·   It is provided electronically in 2 languages, English and Spanish.

·   Policy is reviewed and updated yearly by SSC

To involve parents in the Title I, Part A programs, the following practices have been established:

·   Annual Title 1 parent meeting

·   Monthly Coffee with the Principal meeting

·   Six ELAC meeting per year

·   Workshops are made available to parents

·   Parent teacher conferences

·   Intervention teacher meetings with at-risk students

·   Monthly parent newsletter

·   Health and Wellness Committee

·   Vietnamese Parents Association

·   Social media formats such as Facebook Parent Center page and Twitter

·   Data and SPSA goals are shared at Coffee with the Principal, SSC, SGT and ELAC meetings on a regular basis.

·   Ongoing budget input is gathered from parents to help develop how the Title 1 program will support struggling students.

·   Interventions progress is presented regularly at parent meetings

·   Parent Center provides academic training for parents as well as mental health, Trauma Informed care and Restorative Justice.

All school materials are distributed in electronic format in English, Spanish and Vietnamese

The school provides support for parental involvement activities requested by Title I, Part A parents (ESSA Section 1116[e][14]).

Support, workshops and training are coordinated upon request.

The school provides opportunities for the participation of all Title I, Part A parents, including parents with limited English proficiency, parents with disabilities, and parents of migratory students. Information and school reports are provided in a format and language that parents understand (ESSA Section 1116[f]).This policy was adopted by Rosa Parks on Sept 28, 2020 and will be in effect for the period of one year.

Política de Participación de Padres y de Familias Title I 2020-21

 

En el otoño, se llevará a cabo una junta anual para compartir con los padres una descripción del programa Title I y sus requisitos.

Rosa Parks ha desarrollado una política de participación de padres y de familias Title I por escrito con aportaciones de los padres Title I. Los comentarios se generaron y se discutieron durante las juntas de  SSC y ELAC el 28 de septiembre de 2020.

Se distribuyó la  política a los padres de los estudiantes Title I.

La política se distribuyó en formato electronico el 1 de octubre del 2020. La política también se encuentra disponible en el sitio web de la escuela y se envió en mensaje por medio de Class Dojo

 

Esta política describe los medios para llevar a cabo los requisitos designados de Title I, Parte A  para la participación de padres y familia según ESSA Sección 1116©.

Cada escuela servida bajo esta parte deberá de desarrollar en conjunto con, y distribuir a los padres y a los miembros de las familias de niños participantes una política de participación de padres y familias por escrito, acordada por estos padres, que describirá los medios por los cuales se llevarán a cabo los requisitos de subsecciones © a la (f). ¿Cual es la manera en la cual se notifica a los padres de la política en un formato entendible y uniforme y hasta donde sea posible, provisto en un idioma que los padres puedan entender? ¿Cómo se pone a la disponibilidad de la comunidad local esta  política?  ¿Cómo y cuándo se actualiza periódicamente la política para llenar los requisitos cambiantes de los padres y de la escuela? (ESSA Sección 1116[b][1])?

·   La política se encuentra en nuestro cuaderno del SSC el cual está disponible para el público

·   Se manda a casa en dos idiomas, inglés y español.  

·   El SSC revisa y actualiza la política cada año.

Para que los padres participen en los programas de Title I, Parte A, se han establecido las prácticas detalladas a continuación:  

·   Junta anual de padres Title 1

·   Junta mensual del Café con la Directora

·   Seis juntas del ELAC por año

·   Hay talleres disponibles para las padres

·   Conferencias de padres/maestros

·   Juntas con los maestros de intervención con estudiantes en riesgo

La escuela convoca una junta anual para informar a los padres acerca de los requisitos de Title I, Parte A y acerca de los derechos de los padres para participar en el programa Title I, Parte A (ESSA Sección 1116[c][1]). Agregar los detalles de las juntas anuales en el cuadro de abajo:

·   Las notificaciones de las juntas se mandan por medio de School Messenger y Class Dojo.

De ser solicitado por uno de los padres de estudiantes de Title I, Parte A, la escuela proporcionará oportunidades para juntas regulares que permiten que los padres participen en decisiones relativas a la educación de sus hijos (ESSA Sección 1116[c][4][C]). ¿Cómo provee la escuela estas oportunidades?

·   La Noche de Regreso a Clases proporciona un resumen del currículo y de los estándares

·   Las conferencias de Padres Maestro se realizan dos veces al año

·   Los maestros de intervención mandan reportes de progreso de todos los estudiantes que reciban intervenciones. 

·   Capacitación y Talleres para padres

La escuela involucra a los padres Title I, Parte A en interacciones importantes con la escuela. El Contrato apoya una alianza entre el personal, los padres y la comunidad para mejorar los logros académicos de los estudiantes. Para ayudar a alcanzar estas metas, la escuela estableció las siguientes prácticas:

·   Pre-Strategic y progreso regular de los estudiantes del progreso de lectura y matemáticas- la información acerca del progreso se comparte en el SSC, Café con la Directora y SGT.

·   Los equipos de PLC trabajarán en la instrucción de Nivel I, evaluaciones comunes formativas, estableciendo metas SMART y vigilancia de datos.- La información acerca del progreso del estudiante se comparte en las conferencias de padres maestro.

La escuela provee oportunidades Title I, Parte A a los padres que necesiten ayuda entendiendo el contenido de los estándares académicos estatales, evaluaciones y como vigilar y mejorar los logros de sus hijos. (ESSA Sección 1116[e][1]).

·   Las conferencias de Padres Maestro se realizan dos veces al año

·   Los maestros de intervención mandan reportes de progreso  de todos los  estudiantes que reciban intervenciones 

·   Capacitación y Talleres para padres

·   Café con la Directora

·   Juntas mensuales y capacitaciones para voluntarios.

·   Participación de padres en sub-comités, Salud y Bienestar, club de jardinería, ballet folklórico, Asociación de Padres Vietnamitas

·   Personal del Centro de Padres y Facilitadores de Promoción

·   Trabajadores Sociales basados en la Escuela

Con la ayuda de Title I, Parte A los padres, el personal de la escuela educan a los miembros del personal con los valores de las contribuciones de los padres y como trabajar con los padres como socios equitativos (ESSA Sección 1116[e][3]).

La escuela coordina e integra el programa de participación de padres Title I, Parte A con otros programas y realiza otras actividades, como centros de recursos para padres, para motivar y apoyar a los padres a que participen más de lleno en la educación de sus hijos (ESSA Sección 1116[e][4]).

·   La Noche de Regreso a Clases proporciona ideas de cómo ayudar a los estudiantes en casa.

·   Las conferencias de Padres Maestro se realizan dos veces al año

·   Los maestros de intervención tendrán que proporcionar intervenciones de Nivel 2 a los aprendientes a los que les cueste trabajo el estudio

·   Capacitaciones y talleres para padres (talleres de ejemplo-Crianza Restaurativa, Cuidado de Enterados del Trauma, hostigamiento, comunicación efectiva, estrategias de lectura de alto impacto)

·   Café con la Directora

·   Padres en el Parque- SITP

·   Centro de Padres espacio dedicado a la participación de padres y voluntarismo

·   Capacitación de los voluntarios y juntas mensuales

·   Participación de padres en sub-comités: Salud y Bienestar, Club de Jardinería, Ballet Folklórico, Asociación Vietnamita de Padres

·   Personal del Centro de Padres y Facilitadores de Promoción

·   Trabajadores Sociales basados en la Escuela

·   Asesor de tiempo completo- financiado por Title 1

·   Enfermera de tiempo completo – Financiada por Price Philanthropies

La escuela distribuye información relativa a programas escolares y para padres, reuniones, y otras actividades de  padres Title I, Parte A en un formato e idioma que los padres puedan entiender (ESSA Sección 1116[e][5]).

Todos los materiales escolares se distribuyen en formato de papel en inglés, español y vietnamita.

La escuela proporciona apoyo para las actividades de participación de padres solicitadas por los padres Title I, Parte A (ESSA Sección 1116[e][14]).

El apoyo, talleres y las capacitaciones se coordinan al ser solicitadas.

La escuela proporciona oportunidades para la participación de todos los padres Title I, Parte A, incluyendo padres con inglés limitado, padres con discapacidades y padres de estudiantes migratorios. La información y los reportes escolares se envían en un formato que los padres puedan entender (ESSA Sección 1116[f]).

Esta política se adoptó por Rosa Parks el Feb 25, 2019 y estará en vigor durante el periodo de 2020-2021 ano escolar.

La escuela distribuirá la política a todos los padres de los estudiantes que participen en el programa Title I, Parte A el, o antes: 10 de octubre, 2020
